Community Hub
Coming in 2024
“In partnership with the Wilhide Family, Urban Pastoral is redeveloping the historic, Heinz Riverside Abattoir, built in 1885, into “Riverside,” a bustling, mixed-use, commercial hub.
Located adjacent to the $8B Baltimore Peninsula master plan, & in the heart of a rapidly growing neighborhood of over 18,000 residents, Riverside will fill a large community void as an exciting destination to gather & innovate.”

Our Approach
We are a part of a movement to activate urban spaces into strong, lively, community hubs.
We're tired of generic, mono-designed developments. Instead, we build multi-faceted, entrepreneurial collectives, that create value for both our guests and our stakeholders.
Our mission is not only to inspire holistic spaces, but holistic people.
Gather
An activated space to improve the quality of living, working, & playing, in Riverside. The central ethos is to promote connectivity with movement pathways designed to encourage interaction & communication between users in a symbiotic manner.
Our grand atrium, featuring our hallmark, 75’ greenhouse skylight, is designed to bring the outdoors in. It is our 3rd space, a place to gather, a sanctuary from the city.

Hospitality
We welcome all to Riverside.
Food is a powerful place maker. It is the common bond that connects every person on the planet.
We support forward thinking food entrepreneurs who embrace their cultural roots in cooking, yet push the boundaries of consumer trends. We seek those who are passionate about sharing their stories through food, those who honor the farmers, fishers, & artisans who cultivate their ingredients.
Entrepreneurship
Innovation is caused by friction;
it occurs at the nexus of multi-disciplinary minds and complex issues.
Riverside was designed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs to gather & share ideas. It is a space where we challenge preconceptions, push boundaries, & embrace change.
